InQuira 8.0 introduces Information Center, an out-of-the-box web application included with InQuira Information Manager that is a perfect starting point for companies implementing web self-service. Information Center integrates Intelligent Search, Discussion Forums, and Information Manager together into a comprehensive knowledge portal that reduces the cost of implementation and ensures consistency of information across all user constituencies, including customer, employees and partners.

A Dynamically Created Web Application

The Information Center application dynamically generates from the configuration of InQuira Information Manager and InQuira Intelligent Search. The application mirrors Information Manager channels. Adding new content to the knowledge portal is as simple as configuring a new channel in Information Manager. No IT involvement required!

Ensuring Quality Content with Rating Systems

Information Center encourages knowledge sharing by enabling users (with the right privileges) to quickly draft or recommend new content, or recommend changes to existing content. In addition, if a company configures a rating system and/or discussion forums for a content channel, then Information Center will display the rating system and allow users to discuss the documents online.

Tight Integration with Intelligent Search

Information Center prominently features a tight integration with Intelligent Search, including faceted navigation, troubleshooting wizards, and promotional portlets. All knowledge content, including discussion forums, knowledge base articles, documentation, HTML pages and more, is crawled, indexed, and retrievable into a unified support experience for the user.

A Personalized User Experience

Information Center provides users with personal profiles to update their preferences, and automatically tracks details from previous sessions. For example, Information Center will identify content that the user has not read yet, has already read, or has been updated since the user last read the content. This capability is also used to trigger Alerts to the user, automatically displaying Alerts on the home page until the user views them.

Managing the Escalation Process

Information Center supports escalation processes where a user can submit a case through the knowledge portal, or send an email to the company. In this example, Information Center uses Intelligent Search to attempt to deflect the case or email by providing potential answers to the user's question.
