Silicon Valley Veteran Brings Over 20 years of Experience in Enterprise Software to Intelligent Search Vendor

SAN BRUNO, CA, September 20, 2004 — InQuira Inc., provider of the leading intelligent search solutions for improving personalized customer interaction via the web, today announced the appointment of Bob Macdonald as chief marketing officer. Macdonald brings over 20 years of marketing and sales experience in enterprise software to his new position and will report to CEO Mike Murphy.

Throughout his career, Macdonald has built a track record of increasing the value of the companies he's worked for by improving their ability to communicate the value of their product offerings. At Visigenic Software he championed a complete revamp of the company's marketing effort which resulted in trial product downloads increasing from 300 to 5,000 per month. At SQRIBE Technologies, Macdonald guided an overhaul of corporate and product messages that resulted in improved industry stature and led to a successful acquisition by Brio 18 months later. Macdonald's track record also includes executive positions at a number of other companies, including vice president of corporate marketing at Informix.
